"A master engineer hailing from the Berona Republic. Trigger's seen and done it all, often working with famous names such as Ivalice's experienced physicist Markim Alunira, or the Eidolon known as Godot. Trigger has a short fuse and doesn't tend to like people very much, but he's an exceptionally hard worker who always gets things done thanks to his headstrong and stubborn nature. He is an experienced sharpshooter, always carrying his pistols everywhere he goes."
—Official description.[1]

Creation and development[]

As opposed to the first game, which emulated old Final Fantasy games before characters had fleshed out personalities, UPRC aims to make each character feel very unique in terms of personality in Blackmoon Prophecy II. All of the character personalities in the game are slightly based on other characters from the Final Fantasy series. Trigger is based on Cid Highwind from Final Fantasy VII.[1]

Etymology[]

The choice of the name "Trigger" appears to be derivate from one of these two meanings of the word: one is "the lever that is pressed by the finger to discharge a firearm" or "a device used to release or activate a mechanism"; an appropiate name for an engineer.

"Ramsay" is a name of Scottish origin and means "ram island".
