Keren Farabrandt is a non-playable character in Blackmoon Prophecy II. She is a distant cousin of Vera Farabrandt and the sole remaining Kindred in Gaia. She is the host of the Esper Fenrir during the events of Blackmoon Prophecy II.

Keren is a 128-year-old elderly woman. A long standing relationship with her sole Esper, Fenrir, has granted her black hair that has never lost its colour. Keren was once a beautiful and gentle woman in her younger years, but senility has set in and rendered her a shadow of her past self.

Early life[]

Keren is a cousin of Vera Farabrandt, but was distant from her prolific cousin due to her military ties. Keren was always a softer woman who enjoyed simple living. Unlike Vera, Keren had always been fully versed in the intricacies of being a Kindred and understood her lineage far better than her cousin. Despite this, Keren never fully bonded with an Esper until after Vera's death and the release of the Espers that she had bonded with. Keren had happened upon Fenrir and developed a close bond and friendship with him before he eventually joined with her.

Keren Farabrandt was an advisor to the throne of Lenadia and the last living Kindred who assisted the Augurers in developing anti-Esper combat techniques. After the threat from Ramuh and the Espers going global, Keren is called out of retirement to assist Lenadia once again. Keren found that, for reasons unknown to her, the Esper within her seemed unaffected by the crusade that its kin had gone on and remained loyal to her and her alone.

Blackmoon Prophecy II[]

Keren was visited by Emperor Alduin Vainstrong of Ivalice with a request to make a contact with Espers so he could diplomatically resolve the conflict between Espers and humans. The contact succeeds as Ramuh and his servant Rudra answer the call.

Keren is a feminine name of Hebrew origin that means "glorious dignity" or "ray of light".
